Such was the threadbare lineup of new games for the Wii U, Star Fox Zero ended up being one of Nintendo’s ‘big’ titles at E3 2015.
The input of co-developer PlatinumGames was promising, but the game couldn’t meet the weight of fan expectations. It was released five months later than planned to a collective shrug. The game certainly has its moments, but even Nintendo seemed aware of its failings and bundled in Star Fox Guard as a freebie to sweeten the pill. Some say it’s the better game.
