The Nintendo GameCube gets its first open world action adventure game in Activision’s 2003 hit, True Crime: Streets of LA.
You can’t deny the ambition of True Crime: Streets of LA, with huge swathes of the City of Angels accurately mapped. However, the end result is a little drab, and protagonist Nicolas Kang has as much charisma as a packet of soggy corn chips.
Nonetheless it’s an honourable entry in the fledgling open world genre that emerged in the wake of Grand Theft Auto III.
