True Crime: Streets of LA – Nintendo GameCube Box Art

Written by

The Nintendo GameCube gets its first open world action adventure game in Activision’s 2003 hit, True Crime: Streets of LA.

You can’t deny the ambition of True Crime: Streets of LA, with huge swathes of the City of Angels accurately mapped. However, the end result is a little drab, and protagonist Nicolas Kang has as much charisma as a packet of soggy corn chips.

Nonetheless it’s an honourable entry in the fledgling open world genre that emerged in the wake of Grand Theft Auto III.

Released: 2003
Platform: Nintendo GameCube
Developer: Luxoflux
Publisher: Activision
Genre: Action/World
